Everlasting
There existed a giant, beautiful woman.
Her soul, too beautiful for the gods to compare.
Envious, they ripped up the giant woman, and scattered her pieces all throughout time.
-
Her eyes held fire and passion for all life had to offer.
At times, I couldn't tell what color they were. Green, in lush forests and grassy mountains. Blue, like summer skies and crashing waves. Brown, as the ground which provides. And gray, as we gaze to the stars.
My heart swells at the glimmer of hope that she remembers.
They say the eyes are the window to one's soul, and her soul cannot be reduced to one single color.
In her eyes, I see home, the only home unaffected by the destruction of time. She holds the rich meadows and weeping trees that I long for. Where the sunlight hits my eyes and I can't look away because it's you. Home where it's us, and we're all that we truly need. Home, where I get to admire every new wrinkle, every graying hair, and smile as enchanting as the last.
There inevitably comes the time when we know all there is to each other, this is the moment when our chapters meld together once more.
Maybe we'll take on new hobbies, pick up new books, travel, make new friends, and fall in love over and over.
Even as our eyes grow heavy, and we can no longer run and laugh as we used to, my feelings remain unrelenting.
Even when we can no longer explore the world like we used to, my heart is full at the sight of you sleeping next to me.
We never stop going on walks.
Your skin no longer glowing, lips cracked and aged, , and harder, and harder to move. The orchestra of your heart remained, and mine beat only to the sound.
No matter how hard it becomes to move my body, I'll never stop matching the pace of yours.
-
Death has always scared me.
A new body, a new face and she was gone. Gone, until fate decides I've suffered enough.
Once more, a different time, a new body, a new face, new aspirations, new hobbies, new families.
The cycle repeated endlessly.
No matter how different she looked or became, deep within her eyes
I see the same glowing sun all those years ago
And I fall in love once more.
End.
